“Eyes to the Light” – Under the Canopy invites the viewer into a quiet moment of looking upward—toward shifting light, rustling leaves, and the textured strength of a tree’s trunk. This painting captures the perspective of someone standing beneath a large, sunlit tree, immersed in the rhythm of nature. Energetic brushstrokes and a vibrant palette convey not only the scene itself, but the sensation of presence—of being fully aware of air, light, and stillness.
The inspiration for this piece came during a solitary walk through an old forest at the very start of summer. I paused under a towering tree, looked up—and was struck by how the light filtered through the leaves like a silent conversation between sun and earth. I wanted to capture not just what I saw, but what I felt: calm, awe, and a kind of quiet gratitude.
This work is part of my broader exploration of how nature can be both monumental and intimate. It reflects my ongoing dialogue with light, form, and atmosphere.
