Original artwork description:

The motif of the heavenly eye in both Orthodox and Western cultures has deep symbolic roots. In the Orthodox tradition, this image is often associated with the All-Seeing Eye of God, which symbolizes divine observation and protection, as seen in depictions of the Holy Trinity, where God sees everything and watches over everyone. In Western culture, particularly during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, the "heavenly eye" often becomes a symbol of Enlightenment, God, or the Great Architect, as seen in the famous iconography of the "Eye of Providence," which depicts an eye surrounded by rays of light and often placed within a triangle. (Examples can be seen in the last photograph.)
However, in the modern interpretation of this motif, an interesting metamorphosis occurs. While the heavenly eye once symbolized divine control and observation, today, in the age of technology, this image can be interpreted through the lens of our real-life observers — drones. We live in a world where technology, especially drone cameras, has become a routine part of life. These devices, much like the "heavenly eye," observe us from above, recording every step, yet they are not immediately visible to us from the ground.
