“Exodus” features an elongated rectangular form primarily filled with a textured application of muted blue-gray paint against a stark black background. The blue-gray pigment has been applied with broad, sweeping brushstrokes, layered and scraped to create varied textures. Vertical streaks and irregular, sharp-edged shapes emerge within the composition, forming a rhythmic pattern that hints at an abstracted landscape, cityscape silhouette or an exodus of people. The interplay of light and dark areas within the piece adds depth, while the rough texture introduces a tactile quality.
