The painting depicts a scene in the Ukrainian Carpathians with a view of the mountains before sunset and haystacks in the foreground, which still retain their shape as in the paintings of Claude Monet.
The Carpathians are a Ukrainian mountain range stretching across the western part of the country. They impress with an unforgettable landscape: high peaks, green forests, picturesque valleys and mountain streams.
Carpathian nature presents magical pictures in all seasons, from a picturesque winter fairy tale to blooming summer meadows.
