In Evening in Bora Bora, I wanted to capture that quiet moment when the day slowly dissolves into evening. The air becomes softer, colors lose their sharpness, and light turns warm and reflective.
The overwater bungalows rest gently above the lagoon, while the mountains in the distance fade into violet and blue tones, creating a calm, almost dreamlike depth.
I painted this scene using expressive impasto techniques, allowing thick brushstrokes to reflect movement, light, and emotion rather than precise detail. The reflections on the water are intentionally loose and vibrant — they mirror not only the lights of the island, but the feeling of peace and escape that Bora Bora evokes.
