This is the second iteration of the painting "Evening," sized 30x40.
While I've explored this theme before, I find my perceptions evolving as I work on this particular rendition. Colors shift, and the original concept transforms. "Evening" is a series where everything seems to remain unchanged, yet simultaneously, everything undergoes a metamorphosis.
In this painting, we encounter a girl standing in the water on a deep night, seemingly perturbed by something. However, her facial expression suggests otherwise. The girl is calm, in control of emotions attempting to engulf her. She serenely bows her head, accepting the situation. What prompted her to enter the water, at night, exposed and vulnerable? It's a question left for interpretation.
I propose that the yellow girl seeks solitude and turns to nature for it. In nature's embrace, there is harmony, and perhaps, this is the lesson the girl wishes to glean. The serene waters and the encompassing night serve as a backdrop for the girl's introspective journey, symbolizing a quest for inner peace and understanding in the solitude of the natural world.
