Vivid tropical greens, fiery reds and soft floral whites bring to life two spirited parrots perched among lush foliage. Inspired by the wild ring-necked parrots that have unexpectedly become part of Málaga’s urban nature.
Story Behind the Painting
There was a time when the people of Málaga kept small green parrots in cages as charming pets. They were cute, talkative… and increasingly loud. Over time, the parrots became so bold, so noisy, and so absolutely convinced they owned the place, that many owners simply gave up and set them free.
What happened next became local legend.
The parrots multiplied, adapted, and claimed the city as their own. Instead of the usual pigeons or crows, Málaga’s parks, terraces, and palm trees are now filled with flashes of neon green wings and unapologetically confident parrot chatter. They are wild, fearless, and wonderfully out of place — yet perfectly at home.
This painting captures that vibrant rebellion: nature escaping the cage, color taking over the city, and freedom echoing louder than any human plan.
