Embers of an evening (2026) Original Oil Painting by Francesca Currie

80 x 80 x 2cm (unframed)

£1,400

Original Oil painting, signed lower left.
Embers of the evening light is inspired by the last traces of warmth left behind in the sky as daylight begins to disappear. Deep purples and glowing orange tones move against one another, creating the feeling of something fading while still trying to burn brightly.
Built through layers of marble dust and restrained pigment, the painting explores the tension between softness and intensity. The surface is worked and reworked, allowing textures and streaks of light to emerge through the darker tones, like brief flashes breaking through evening cloud
