MOTHER NATURE is a mysterious painting in a very elongated format (30 x 80 cm), painted in acrylic on cotton canvas stretched over wood.

An excessively slender woman in a long golden dress and black stole with faded red flowers, like on an antique Chinese piece of furniture, Mother Nature symbolises the beauty and mystery of nature, a skilful alchemy between the functional and the aesthetic, in an atmosphere with an Asian and spiritual flavour.

The patterns on the stole and dress have been worked with a knife to give them a shimmering or faded relief effect.

In the background, a few white flowers float on a bright olive green wall, one of them ending like a charm on Lady Nature's morning mist-coloured turban headdress.

The floor is worked in shades of dark reddish brown, like the parquet flooring of a Chinese temple.
