Zakhar Shevchuk’s Easter Dinner (2020) is a 55×99 cm oil that turns the “flaws” of old snapshots – blur, scratches, light leaks – into poetic tools. The wide format reads like a remembered film still, where movement and care take precedence over detail.

Across a white table, two women pass plates while children linger at either side. Lines are suggested then softened; blues and greys hold a cool, evening atmosphere; the table gleams like overexposed paper. Viewers complete the scene themselves – recognizing family choreography even as faces fade.

Balancing narrative hint and painterly abstraction, Easter Dinner offers a tactile, psychologically resonant domestic moment. Private collection, commissions welcome.
