I love painting clouds and different weather conditions. This is a special painting which I did as a demonstration for a television team doing a report on my life and work as a plein air artist. It was painted near my home in the Saarland region of Germany where the distant hill - the Schaumberg - is one of the highest elevations. We can often watch clouds forming on the horizon over the Schaumberg and showers falling there over the high ground so this is quite a typical scene. Painted in late September, the landscape is already starting to show autumnal tints.
