Dust and Light explores the balance between structure and softness, built through a composition of intersecting tones and layered surfaces.
Working in a limited palette of cool grey, soft ivory, smoky charcoal, and hints of warm beige, I created this painting using palette knives and dry brushwork. The vertical and horizontal lines divide the canvas into four segments, evoking a sense of order — but the textures and gradients break the symmetry, giving the piece depth and movement.
You’ll notice subtle engravings and delicate scraped marks beneath the surface, almost like imprints of memory or windblown traces left on stone. The overall effect is tranquil yet dynamic — a composition that speaks through nuance, inviting quiet contemplation.
