Original artwork description:

DRIVE INTO OBLIVION is mixed media collage landscape art, with a distinct vintage and Polaroid look. It depicts a desolate desert landscape, where a bright pink retro American car drives past a dilapidated gas station - a place that was once vibrant, but has now fallen prey to drought and emptiness.
As a result of climate change

The composition is nostalgic and refers to the 1960s, a time of freedom and endless possibilities. At the same time, the work evokes a melancholic atmosphere: the transience of time is clearly noticeable.

The texture of the work is deliberately aged: scratches, stains and other traces of wear emphasize the weathered surface and reinforce the feeling of desolation. The combination of photographic elements, collage and analog aging makes this work unique within contemporary urban and landscape art.

DRIVE INTO OBLIVION balances between memory and decay, and aims to make the viewer reflect on the passage of time as well as climate change.

Materials used:

Collage, Image Transfer, Ink, Acrylic, Pastel
