Drift of Still Light is an original contemporary abstract painting created with acrylic on canvas.
In this work, I explored the quiet dialogue between layered grey, soft white, muted beige and deep earthy tones, building a surface that feels both grounded and expansive.
I applied the paint in multiple stages, using palette knife work, gentle scraping and semi-transparent layers to achieve a rich, tactile texture. The surface holds subtle variations — areas of density and openness — allowing light to move naturally across the canvas.
This painting is not about a specific place, but about a state of perception. I wanted to capture the moment when space feels suspended, when movement slows and depth reveals itself gradually.
