Original artwork description
Doocots were built to accommodate Doves or Pigeons. Sadly, they have fallen into disuse but many are still standing, a reminder of a time when farmland looked a bit different, less barren perhaps. In Fife, Scotland, there are still many of these lonely buildings in existence, and they punctuate the landscape. Here, I was attracted by the big grey sky and ploughed land, the Doocot providing a focal point on this rather misty day.
