Artist's description:

This is a reduction linocut, which I tried out in two colour schemes. This is the final colour scheme that I decided on for the edition, but each of the prints is slightly different, as I added texture to the sky and the colours vary slightly in each one. so They are an 'édition variée', or e.v. for short. There is also a single print for sale in the blue colour scheme.
It was inspired by a train trip that I took across the bottom of the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. It's called the 'Cockle Train' and it takes passengers along the cliffs above golden beaches that are never crowded. This dog's owner was somewhere in the vicinity, but he looked as though he had the beach to himself.

Materials used:

Oil based Relief inks, chine collé archival Hosho paper on substrate of Dutch etching paper

Dog on the Beach, 4/8, e.v. (2014)
