This series consists of sculptures made from the light wood of natural calabashes grown in the south of France.

This calabash, with its magnificent stains, has been emptied of its contents, seeds and skin so that it can be exported around the world, then refilled, this time with red clay balls to make it heavier, because once emptied, calabash wood is light.

More than a canine, she is an elegant, refined lady dog with an atypical dress embroidered with changing patterns and shades of red and leathery brown, wearing leather gloves that go up to her elbows, with an overlay of red-painted nails at the ends.

She has beautiful blue eyes made of blown glass that are worried and want to be reassured. The mesh of her dress and its varying hues required long hours of work. The relief motifs on a deep red variegated background, with each tiny dot of a flower in a lighter carmine red, were worked with a fine brush...

Materials: dried natural calabash wood, surfine wood pulp, acrylic paint, blown glass, mahogany husk, varnish.
