Part of my degree show series titled 'Silent Perspective', these pieces capture the stillness of northern streets and the subtle shifts of the seasons. They explore the quiet contrast between old and new, inviting a closer look at the understated beauty of the everyday. Each work is marked by the absence of people, spaces paused in time, quietly waiting to be noticed.
Distinctly 'Dean Street' is the only study in the series that depicts the human form, with two figures, huddled beneath an umbrella, bring a quiet intimacy to the composition, offering a sense of connection and warmth amid the grey. The work is set against the rich, textured facades of historic red-brick buildings, the scene draws the viewer into a rainy day softened by reflections and shadows. This piece invites the viewer to pause and feel the poetry of the everyday, a moment of stillness in a moving city.
