I saw this scene very early one May morning on a wonderful community-owned farm a mile from my home, where the summer meadows are rich with herbs and grasses. I was immediately struck by the misty sunrise, but to begin with, I wasn't quite satisfied that I had the makings of a good painting. It was only when I lay down in the dirt and peered up through the meadow grasses that I had my composition. This is an original oil painting on a canvas board
