Original artwork description
The figure on my painting is looking at a painting of Jesus Christ by Francisco Zurbaran who painted it in 1627. Conforming to Counter-Reformation dictates, Zurbaran depicted the event occurring not in a crowd but in isolation. Emerging from a dark background, the austere figure has been both idealized in its quiet, graceful beauty and elegant rendering and humanized by the individualized face.
Materials used:
Acrylic on masonite
Details:
- Acrylic painting on Panel / Board / MDF
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 15.24 x 15.24 x 2.54cm (unframed)
