Crested Butte Colorado II was started as the demo for an oil painting class I was teaching. Later on I finished it in my studio. This is the 2nd time I painted this amazing scene. The first painting was a little 8" x 10" painting which sold a year or 2 ago. I love Crested Butte and have visited the area several times. The views are so breathtaking there and I hope to return sometime. This photo was taken in an area where we hiked. I was motivated to paint this beautiful scene due to the shadows across the road and to capture the beautiful shapes and vivid colors of the trees against the mountains. There is nothing that is prettier than seeing aspen trees in the fall with their bright and vivid colors. This painting is framed and is ready to hang..
