Original artwork description
A garden reimagined - This painting is a personal study and reinterpretation of "Corner of a Garden" by John Singer Sargent. While staying true to the compositional elegance of the original, I chose to adapt the colour palette to reflect my own artistic sensibilities. The background is painted with warm orange tones, softly visible through the layers with a bit strong texture in the background, adding a contemporary depth. This blend of homage and personal expression allowed me to explore light, form, and atmosphere in a new way, while honouring Sargent’s timeless garden scene.
The painting is sealed with UV varnish, and the 2 cm thick canvas has painted edges, making it ready to hang and experience.
