The sculpture does not need explanation. Looking will engender thoughts in the mind of the onlooker who will form their own unique interpretation.
Because of its three-dimensional nature, sculpture is an incredibly powerful way to make an impression. A feature of sculpture is that it can be moved from place to place, enriching each new space it occupies, creating a dialogue with other objects in that space and refreshing the perspective of the viewer. A polished bronze crescent springs from the highly textured bronze body, standing on a composite base comprising real Cornish slate dust bound by resin.
