Welcome to my captivating world where monkeys smoke cigars, goddesses reign supreme, the Egg family rules, my Lovers and Jazz fill the air, conspirators plot, and ladies in red captivate your senses.
My collection of conspirators is full of mischief and secrecy. Each character is always up to something naughty or scheming a dodgy deal, "I want a desperado feel to it, moody as if they have something to hide, I want them anxious, so you get those staring menacing eyes and, as always, beautiful girls”.
Unlike many surrealists, who present their dreams, the central subjects of my work are people and bold colours. My work opens up new dimensions of art to explore. My Blue Valentine figures radiate closeness, love, and a sense of safety, and my conspirator characters evoke curiosity. “My subject matter is people, but my real passion is in colour and how the arrangement of colour can produce a different emotional experience of art.”
I paint people; I want my paintings to have character that tells a story, but without words, as if through mime. To be dramatic, emotional, sometimes theatrical, but always with feelings and always special.
