Original artwork description
At the center of this painting is a girl. I painted her sitting on an ostrich, with her eyes closed and her head slightly raised. One hand rests on her chest, while the other falls naturally beside her — as if she is no longer trying to control the road ahead, but learning to trust it instead. The ostriches around her are not simply moving beside her; to me, they are companions. They are not a crowd, but an environment moving in the same direction.
Ostriches do not usually fly — they run. It feels as if they are carrying her toward a place where there is no need to hide your head in the sand.
The eggs below symbolize possibilities to me — unborn ideas, future stories, or parts of the past already left behind. And the sky is not still; it is entirely in motion. I wanted even the wind not to resist her, but to move with her. In the end, this painting is about a journey. Not about arriving quickly, but about refusing to hide. Ostriches do not fly, yet somehow they still reach far.
