Beachhouse 25 is a popular beach café in the part of southern Zeeland between Cadzand Bad and Breskens. With its white wooden veranda, it has a touch of “The Hamptons” about it. I have often enjoyed a cocktail or food here myself and, on a beautiful summer evening, I painted this scene on site on the beach as people started to arrive for evening drinks or dinner. It is one of a series of beach cafe paintings that I have painted along this stretch of coastline, notably the “Zeemeuw” , which means “The Seagull” and “Dok 14” which can be seen hanging in that particular establishment.
