The Cognac, dark and inviting, was lazily resting, capturing the reflections of the far fire. Next to it, two mature persimmons, with a tense and velvety skin, seemed waiting.
They were there, on the shiny table, silent witnesses of a story not yet pronounced.
Maybe they waited for the hand of an old professor who, after a day of study, would have raised the glass for a slow sip, meditating on the transience of the leaves and the sweetness of life. Or perhaps they waited for the arrival of a young artist, ready to paint their quiet beauty before enjoying them ....
This is a painting that I reproduced in 2015. A dear memory!
