Artwork description
City of Lost Souls I is a digital photomontage inspired by the dramatic architecture and nocturnal atmosphere of Dubai. Created from original photographic imagery of the iconic Burj Khalifa, the work combines layered textures, abstract markings and luminous city lights to transform a recognizable skyline into a dreamlike urban landscape.
The deep blue palette and ethereal light effects evoke a sense of mystery and isolation beneath the city's spectacular surface. Inspired by themes of ambition, identity and the rapid evolution of contemporary cities, the work explores the relationship between human aspiration and the monumental structures we create. The title reflects the transient nature of modern urban life, where millions of individual stories unfold beneath the glow of the world's tallest tower, creating a city that feels both intensely connected and strangely anonymous.
