The theme of the pursuit of luck is embodied in the painting "Holy Fortune-telling" and in the film "Fortune-telling. Night on Ivan Kupala". The sacred meaning of the latter is born from mixed representations of pagan and Christian rites. Since ancient times, people have found solace in the witches. Sometimes these superstitions served as fun, jokes, mixed with games. Fortunetellers at different times of the year, in accordance with local, village customs, fortunetelling significantly changed in each county. V. I. Dahl describes fortune-telling on cards, coffee, the Psalter, sieve, eggs, wax, needles, lead, mirrors, water, chicken, beans, and holy (baptismal) fortune-telling.
