This artwork is part of an installation exploring the transformation of female identity. It features a sculpted hand on an oval ceramic base, painted in vibrant shades of orange, red, and purple, and coated with lacquer for a refined finish.
Has society reflected on the psychological and physical changes a woman undergoes when transitioning into the role of motherhood? The irreversible shift from maidenhood to womanhood/motherhood involves profound bodily changes, symbolized in this piece through the hand—an extension of touch, care, and transformation.
The lacquered surface conveys both fragility and strength, while the hand itself becomes a metaphor for the changes a woman experiences. This artwork serves as a reminder of the inner evolution of motherhood, often overlooked by society.
