Sketches from the Cycle People and the Sea are in relation to the seaside, the summer time, vacations, people on the beach.
In this sketches I'm fascinated by the way that sea, seaside and place attract people, how the sea – seaside become summer constancy; a time to take a rest, to be on the sun, to breathe the sea, to swim, to take hours for observing the sea, to be on the beach for hours, to meet and talk with people or with family members, to be with children, …
Every beach, swimming area has its own specifics or ambiance and people always find their place in it. In the sketches or paintings of the beach, dialogues or swimming areas, I was mainly interested in individual moments of a day, relationships between people, situations in the day.
