Seeing the beauty of God’s creation inspired me to make an oil painting from this stunning view of Canyonlands National Park. I was completely drawn in by this amazingly breathtaking scene. It is a good idea to take a number of photos of a subject one is considering for a landscape painting. So I took quite a few reference photos of this beautiful scene hoping they would provide enough information for me to create a really good composition. Canyonlands was created using high quality oil paints on a stretched linen canvas. When you look at this painting I hope you can feel a bit of the awe and wonder that I felt while enjoying this view. I really love this painting and hope that some of you will feel the same way. I have framed this work in a dark espresso frame that has warm under tones and a gold fillet. It is completely ready to hang on your wall.
