When creating this painting, I aimed to evoke deep emotional memories through the simplest play of light and shadow. The candlelight is warm yet fragile, like a fleeting but sincere feeling. The rose, half-hidden in darkness, symbolizes love and longing. I used a dark background to contrast sharply with the illuminated areas, making the candlelight the visual focal point. The scattered white specks suggest dust in the air, creating a tranquil atmosphere tinged with narrative. The rose’s brushstrokes are intentionally bold, allowing it to retain mystery and ambiguity in the shadows.
