Artwork description
I was commissioned to create a beautiful camel by the departing Master of the Grocers’ Guild. The Grocers’ Guild is a City of London Livery Company, and its emblem features a camel. There are several fascinating depictions of the Grocers’ camel, including various reliefs, and I thoroughly enjoyed translating this emblem into my own three-dimensional version for the client. The initial design included saddle bags adorned with clove symbols and a delicate harness made from bronze strips.
Working on exotic animals is always a delight, as it allows me to explore new and exciting source materials. Dromedaries are stunning creatures, and in this instance, I also had the pleasure of delving into the guild’s history to gather the information needed to create my camel statue.
This bronze Arabian camel features Tanya’s signature and a unique edition number. Your casting of the Camel sculpture will be personally approved and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
