In the maze of the numerous canals of Venice, some of them brimmed with activity while a few others were calm and very still. Being there at once brought a sense of calm in the mind and body, kind of wanting to just slow down and savour the beauty that lay before the eyes. I’ve tried to capture that exact mood in this painting.
