Buttercup Bloomrush is one of those paintings that seemed to paint itself, a full-on rush of colour and energy that poured straight from my imagination onto the canvas. I wanted to capture that wild, electric feeling of standing in a summer meadow when everything bursts into life at once. I worked in layers of dripped and thrown paint, building rhythm and texture with brushes, palette knives, and splashes straight from the pot. The buttercups, daisies, and poppies appeared instinctively through the chaos, bright, fearless, and full of movement. This large diptych (200 x 120 cm on two panels, each 100 x 120 cm) is a force of energy. I find beauty in spontaneity, I follow the rhythm of the paint and let it surprise me. I love that moment where realism meets abstraction, where flowers feel alive but free. Colour drives me most; it is emotion on canvas, a celebration of joy, awe, and the wild beauty of nature.
