Oil Painting Set - Only Sold Together

The life cycle of the Brahmin Moth and Caterpillar is filled with quite a few more stages than just beginning and end, but this pair represents what is pretty much a universal cycle for all moths and butterflies, an amazing transition, each end serving a purpose. But while the huge gamut of different species of these metamorphic creatures is similar, what a crazy and endlessly varied bunch it is! After finding this randomly on the web one day, I looked quite a few times at the caterpillar and thought, "Ok, that has to be Photoshopped...there's no way except for Star Trek that could be real.

Turns out it is.

These paintings sell only as a pair. I humbly signed the moth one on the bottom, because I feel like my signature on a piece of art is nothing in comparison with the design of the actual thing itself.

But...offered up for you...these are 2 - 12 3/4 x 8 3/8 x 1 inch pieces on my own hand-made birch wood panels, with about 4 layers of gesso. They are ready to hang as is. All of my pieces come with a certificate of authenticity, a thick paper backing, and I'm experimenting currently with including magnets for hanging. They are meant to be hung absolutely flat against the wall. Very light weight. Recommended 1.5 inches between them on a vertical arrangement, but...that's up to you.

Materials used:

Wood, Gesso, Oil paint
