Story of the Painting-
This is a place I know extremely well. It is in fact a wild boggy meadow in SW Scotland that belonged to an old friend. However because it is filled with a delightful array of local grasses ,meadow flowers and wild shrubs and trees it is more like a wild garden to me. The ground is very soggy so I have made sketchbook studies and this painting is inspired by one of them.
