I have repeatedly visited the port of Benites on the island of Corfu to write this sketch from life on plain-air. Boats on the shore in the shade of trees, sunbeams running across the surface, created an ornament for my future painting.
In crafting this artwork, I strove to capture the dynamic interplay of light and the tranquil atmosphere of a secluded marina. My use of impressionistic strokes and a vibrant palette evokes the serene yet lively spirit of the seaside. Each brushstroke embodies a moment of peace, harmonizing the calmness of the boats at rest with the subtle energy of life by the water. This painting is a celebration of nature's rhythms and the quiet joy they instill in our souls, bringing a breath of fresh, energetic air into any home.
The locals mistook me for their own, for the Greek and often asked how to get to the hotel, or for a long time they talked about how they lived in the area before.
