- Blueberry Bubble
Original artwork description
Part of the Moóca Houses series, Blueberry Bubble was developed during Patií Domingues’ period living in Amsterdam and reflects a distant recollection of Brazilian urban architecture filtered through memory, displacement, and colour.
Using simplified geometric forms, sharp shadows, and saturated tones, the painting transforms ordinary façades into quiet psychological spaces suspended between reality and imagination. The composition balances architectural precision with emotional atmosphere, combining references to the working-class neighbourhoods of São Paulo with the stillness and visual order experienced during the artist’s years in Europe.
Rather than documenting a specific place, the work explores the emotional residue of cities: the way certain colours, structures, and fragments of light remain stored in memory long after departure.
Part of an early body of work presented in Amsterdam in 2022, Blueberry Bubble marks the beginning of an ongoing investigation into urban memory, migration, and the silent narratives embedded in architecture.
