Blue Silence (2025) Original Oil Painting by Lilith Gurekhian

£1,247.78

In this painting, I was interested not in action, but in the silence that emerges just before change.

The central figure stands between two realities. Her elongated body is not meant to describe anatomy, but a state of being. One foot remains in a high heel, symbolizing the roles we perform, while the other is nearly bare, representing vulnerability, truth, and a direct connection to the ground.
The black bird is one of the painting’s central symbols. It is not a threat, but a quiet presence. To me, it represents awareness, truth, or the thought that arrives before we are ready to accept it. The woman has not turned toward it, yet its presence has already changed everything.
This is not a painting about an event, but about a state of transition—neither fallen nor flying, neither fully human nor fully transformed.
“Blue Silence” is about the moment when you realize that remaining where you are is no longer possible.
