Blue Heron in a Ponderosa Pine (2026) Linocut by Laurel Macdonald

I saw this heron in a Ponderosa pine tree. It's always fun to see them somewhere other than wading in a creek. I took a few liberties with the painting, adding lots of color to the heron and using a lot of squiggly lines for the background. Hope you enjoy it!! It's a lot of color on these smoky, gray days!

I drew the image onto linoleum, cut out the negative space, printed the raised area onto watercolor paper painted with acrylics. Then, I added more acrylic paint for a more colorful image.
