My favorite flowers are peonies.
In traditional Chinese and Japanese art, peonies represent feminine beauty as well as wealth and status. Peonies are of particular importance in China, the homeland of this flower. In this country, the peony is the national flower and symbolizes wealth, power and is often found in traditional painting, silk embroidery, national dress and jewelry.
Gorgeous blue peony on a golden background. Deep blue, gold and pink lines are mixed together in precious contrasts.
Acrylic on round Tondo canvas, 50 cm in diameter.
