Bloom in Chaos is about things that are alive because they aren't perfect — things still moving, still changing while you look at them. Nothing was arranged, nothing stayed in place, everything competed for the same space, and somewhere in that the painting became itself. The title is what it felt like: chaos that turns out to be a bloom, before it changes again.

Impermanence is the through-line across my work — flowers already changing while I paint them, drips that fall from the blooms because nothing is fixed, sunset studies caught in the ten minutes before the light drops. Here it plays out abstractly: a large horizontal field of warm pink, magenta and cream on one side; teal, cobalt and olive on the other; and between them bronze, yellow-green, deep purple, a strip of ivory — nothing settled, everything still on its way somewhere.

Oil on cotton canvas, built with palette knife over several sessions in Bali. The surface is heavy with real 3D texture — ridges and peaks that catch light differently at different times of day. Some passages are wet-on-wet where two colours have blended in the knife stroke; others are dry over-layers where I let one pass set before adding the next. The result reads different close up and from across the room.

The 50 × 100 cm horizontal format works above a sofa, above a low console, above a bed headboard, or as a single centrepiece on a wide wall. The sides of the canvas are painted so the composition continues around the edge — the work is ready to hang as it is, no frame needed. The palette (deep blues, pink, teal, olive, cream) pairs with cream, warm wood, dark green, moody plaster, and quiet-neutral interiors — reads well in modern contemporary, transitional, and moody-traditional rooms.
