Artwork description:

Blaue Nacht’ (Blue Night) is a landscape inspired by the blue glow of the evening sky just after sunset. In my native Germany this is called ‘blue Stunde’.
We observe this special light more in the warmer months, possibly because we spend more time outside.
The idea and the image allowed me to work with this deep blue I love so much for it’s ability to create a mysterious atmosphere.
Hopefully the image will lead the viewer’s mind to find their own narrative in the print's deep blue.
The etchings are hand-printed in an edition of 10 from 2 steel plates on acid free paper in my studio in Brighton/UK.
The image size is 22cm x 22cm with a paper margin of about 6cm all around.
