Black Cherries a hyprerrealist oil painting on a gesso panel , measuring 12 x 12 inches (approx 30 x 30 cm).

The painting, of a green glass sundae dish filled with black cherries, is a continuation of a new series of Still Life paintings by realist artist Christopher Witchall.

Witchall combines 21st century technology of Hi-Resolution digital imaging, with centuries old painting techniques, including a grisaille under painting and building up depth of colour by layering very thin transparent oil paint, in a technique called glazing.
The resulting painting has a high degree of realism, within a stripped back, modern feel composition.

Black Cherries is signed on the back and supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and is sold unframed.
