Black and Yellow is an original abstract acrylic painting exploring contrast, movement and the interaction between colour and texture.

The composition combines intense yellow with deep black and lighter areas, creating a dramatic visual contrast. Organic forms move across the surface of the canvas, while the textured paint gives the work additional depth and dimension.

When creating this painting, I was interested in allowing the materials to influence the final composition rather than controlling every detail. The movement of the acrylic paint created spontaneous patterns and transitions, making the finished artwork impossible to reproduce exactly.

The strong contrast between black and yellow gives the painting its energy, while the flowing forms create a sense of continuous movement across the canvas.

This work belongs to an earlier period of my artistic practice when I was exploring abstract and fluid acrylic techniques before concentrating more extensively on contemporary wildlife realism.
