Title: Birth of a Torii #19 (Fushimi Inari 伏見稲荷)
A commission for the nineteenth work in a series re-imagining the origin of the traditional Japanese gate to a sacred space or shrine, TORII (鳥居).
A TORII (鳥居) is born at Kyoto's Fushimi Inari (伏見稲荷).
Painted with acrylics on canvas. Using razor blades and brushes, a foundation of colors are layered to a rich texture, and overlaid with intricate lines and geometric patterns resembling circuitry.
