The fourteenth work in a series re-imagining the origin of the traditional Japanese gate to a sacred space or Shinto shrine, TORII (鳥居).
On a cool morning at Kyoto's Fushimi Inari (伏見稲荷), a TORII (鳥居) is born.
Painted with acrylics on canvas. Using razor blades and brushes, a foundation of colors are layered to a rich texture, and overlaid with intricate lines and geometric patterns resembling circuitry.
