The thirteenth work in a series re-imagining the origin of the traditional Japanese gate to a sacred space or Shinto shrine, TORII (鳥居).

One hot summer day in 中野区 NAKANO-KU, Tokyo a torii (鳥居) comes to fruition.

Painted with acrylics on canvas. Using razor blades and brushes, a foundation of colors are layered to a rich texture, and overlaid with intricate lines and geometric patterns resembling circuitry.
